Three Dark Crowns Review

I have heard a lot about this book plus the plot sounds so intriguing I had to read it. Also if you haven't noticed I love young adult fantasy books. Once again this is my Bookstagram picture. My theme is high heels and books since I love both of them dearly.

In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

I thought this was a good story. Women rule in this world, which is always awesome. There were elements of surprise, romance, betrayal, and friendship. I haven't decided which queen is my favorite yet but I'm sure by book two I will have decided.

There were some good plot twists and when this ended I was shocked at the revelation. I'm so excited for the second book, One Dark Throne. If you love all of the elements I described above in a story then you should definitely check this book out.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
