An Interview with the characters of A Ghostly Affair Part II

AC: Leslie, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to me.

Leslie: No problem! I love talking about my BFF and her ghost of a lover.

AC: What were you thinking when Carrie told you that she was having an affair with a ghost?

Leslie: Frankly I thought that fucker Ryan had finally drove her off the deep end. I mean anyone in my shoes would’ve have thought the same thing. It’s not everyday your best friend tells you she has been boning a dead person in her new home. But she was so adamant about it and even though I knew Carrie had what we thought were mental issues I still trusted my friend and believed her.

AC: Do you think if you were around Carrie as much as you would’ve liked that she would have put up with Ryan as long as she did?

Leslie: Of course, not and he knew that shit! That’s why he isolated her and kept her away from me, typical narcissist abusive behavior.

AC: Have you been back to the house since, Carrie’s passing?

Leslie: Yes! I visit all the time. I can feel her presence throughout the house, and she gives me signs that she is around. The TV will click on and turn to our favorite TV show, or the rocking chair will be rocking by itself on the back porch. I have even had to tell she and David to keep their extracurricular activities down.

AC: Wow, that’s amazing. Well, she is lucky to have a good friend like you. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Leslie: Anytime!

AC: Welcome David!

David: Thanks for having me!

AC: What was it about Carrie that piqued your curiosity and enticed you into entering an affair with her?

David: From the first day I saw her I saw how beautiful she was inside and out. When I saw how David neglected and discarded such a valuable treasure, I wanted her even more. I didn’t care if she was married all I cared about was making her the happiest woman on the planet.

AC: And that you did, to the point of her ending her life to be with you. What was your thoughts about that?

David: I was not happy. The last thing I wanted was for her life to be cut short on my behalf. I encouraged her to live her life to the fullest and not to hold back. When she came back home that day and took those pills…I had no idea. She told me she had a headache, so I didn’t pay her any mind when she told me she was going downstairs to get a glass of water. If I had known I would’ve tried everything in my power to stop her, but it was what she wanted and I am not sure if even I could have stopped her.

AC: Carrie was not happy with you when she found out that you knew Ryan was leaving her. If you had the chance to do it all over again, would you tell her sooner about Ryan’s plans?

David: Um honestly that is a hard one, because I feel like if I had told her sooner, she may not have believed me or we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to fall in love with each other and then on the other hand I feel horrible about keeping such heartbreaking news from her, so to answer your question I don’t know what I would do except fall in love with her all over again.

AC: Well, aren’t you quite the charmer! Do you have a live brother? I’m just joking but thank you for speaking with me. I wish you two a happily ever after.
